Description

White Sage (Salvia Apiana) — a sacred plant of the Navajo Native Americans, known for its unique energy and cleansing power. It is also known as "White Sage" or "Sacred Sage". Native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, this plant releases a pleasant, distinctive scent when burned. The smoldering smoke from ignited leaves is used for smudging homes, ceremonial spaces, and during spiritual practices to provide protection from negative energy, spells, and to heal the body, mind, and soul. The smoke of white sage relaxes, harmonizes the state, improves concentration and sensitivity, and enhances extrasensory and mediumistic abilities.

Usage

Prepare yourself and the space. Tidy up, preferably with a wet clean. Form an intention for your spiritual and energy practice. Leave a window open to allow the negative energy to leave the space along with the smoke.

Light one end of the bundle or a separate fragment (a twig or leaf) from a live flame (candle, oil lamp, match). Remove the sage from the flame source, allowing it to burn a bit. Be cautious when handling fire. Use solid non-flammable surfaces away from flammable items like carpets, curtains, and soft furniture. When the flame ignites, gently blow it out. The leaf tips should smolder slowly without visible flame, releasing thick smoke. If you need more smoke, fan the smoldering corner with a ritual fan or feather. Place the bundle with the burning end down on a fireproof surface, a traditional abalone shell, or a ceramic or stone stand. When finished, extinguish the sage bundle. For this, pour some salt or sand into the shell or stand and immerse the smoldering end in it. Avoid using water. Before leaving the room, ensure the bundle is completely extinguished.
